It's nearly kayak season again!

Hello friends!

The days are getting longer and brighter and we are getting super excited about this next kayak season!! Some new stuff-

This winter, we worked on a new website that just went live! Please take a look and check it out for us! You should see all the same functionality as before but if you have any problems, or user functionality seems off, just let us know!

The bike shop is cranking up due to the nice weather and everyone hitting the trails, so while Jeremiah is doing his best to stay on top of phone calls and questions, our website stands as your go-to spot to immediately help you reserve your seat on a kayak tour, or get answers to your kayaking questions!

Let’s see- a few other fun updates….

Danica, our beloved local Kayak guide from last season is returning! She’s an all-star on the water and you’ll love going kayaking with this laid back, knowledgeable guide. Not only is she great at tailoring tours to guests’ capabilities and desires, she also knows all the best spots for wildlife, picnics on the beach, and tidepooling by sea kayak.

Oh! And one more shout out that is a little overdue here. THANK YOU BONNIE!! Local Kodiak artist Bonnie Dillard helped bring to life our sea kayak ‘Kayak Kodiak’ sign that now is posted proudly in front of our bike shop! I have NO artistic skills whatsoever, and Bonnie spearheaded turning our no-longer seaworthy vessel into a beautiful sign along Mill Bay road. So so thankful to her, it is beautiful!

Ok, and with that I’m leaving this screen and heading outside- the sunshine is calling! Can’t wait to see you on the water 🙂

Sea Islands Expedition

The Sea Islands Expedition is Kayak Kodiak's signature tour — and one guests talk about for years. Three hours paddling through clear, shallow water along the remote side of the island, with unobstructed views of the mountains and the kind of wildlife access you simply can't get from shore.

Puffins nesting on rocky outcroppings. Sea otters floating in the kelp. Seals watching you from a curious distance. Your guide brings a naturalist's eye to everything you encounter — this isn't just a paddle, it's an education in one of the most productive marine ecosystems on the planet.

Suitable for all experience levels. No kayaking background required — just a willingness to get out on the water and see what shows up.

Kodiak Wild Isles Kayak Tour

This is the paddle that makes people fall in love with the island.

Just minutes from town, we launch into a surprisingly wild coastal landscape of quiet barrier islands, kelp forests, tide pools, and wildlife-rich waters framed by Kodiak’s dramatic mountains. Sea otters drift through the kelp, puffins dart overhead, bald eagles patrol the shoreline, and seals and sea lions are frequent companions along the route.

Over the course of this two and a half hour adventure, your local guide brings these waters to life with stories, wildlife knowledge, and an intimate understanding of the tides and coastline that only comes from years spent paddling here.

Perfect for families, beginners, and anyone visiting Kodiak who wants to experience the island the way locals do.
