Unforgettable Experience with Kayak Kodiak & the Amazing Guide Danica! I can’t say enough great things about Kayak Kodiak and our incredible guide, Danica! A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of kayaking around Women’s Bay in Kodiak, Alaska, and it was truly breathtaking. The scenery alone is worth the trip, but what made the experience unforgettable was Danica. She’s not only an expert guide, but also a wealth of knowledge about island life, local wildlife, and the area’s fascinating history. Her professionalism, combined with her fun, upbeat, and sometimes goofy personality, made the entire outing feel both educational and incredibly enjoyable. I loved it so much, I signed up for another event, and I’m already looking forward to future kayaking adventures with them. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a total beginner, I highly recommend Kayak Kodiak and especially Danica for a unique and memorable Alaskan experience. Absolutely worth every penny!

This was a wonderful experience. Our guides, Hal and Steve, are very knowledgeable about kayaking and the local environment. They had the kayaks all set up and ready for launching when we arrived. They also arranged incredible weather for us as well. The double kayaks are very comfortable and stable. We launched from Trident Basin (sea plane docks) and paddled around Popov Island. We saw numerous otters, some seals, and a variety of birds including gulls, terns, and eagles. We are experienced (Kodiak) kayakers revisiting the island after a long absence, and this was a great re-introduction to the water and wildlife. Wear or borrow boots (Xtra-tuffs are perfect) or expect to get your feet wet. Take your own water, snacks are optional. They will make a stop on a beach somewhere for a rustic rest stop. We had a stone skipping contest and Steve won with a discus-sized rock. Kayaking Kodiak is a great Alaskan experience that should not be missed.

John was our guide and did a superb job as he led 6 women and myself on an amazing trip around several islands pointing out the various wildlife, relating the history of Kodiak, and showing us hidden bunkers on a small island. When we weren’t ready to quit paddling after a couple of hours, neither was he, and we continued around another island. It was a great experience for all of us.

We booked a private tour with Maya in a remote spot in Chiniak, south of Kodiak City. It was fabulous. We met Maya and discussed what we were interested in seeing. She had everything ready for us. The bay conditions were calm and we saw the islands, bird colonies, and otters. We worked with the tides and had the wind to our back on our return. A real highlight of our trip to Alaska. Highly recommend it.

She took care of us from the start, finding ways to make a trip work for us, taking care of our more nervous students, and giving them an outstanding experience. Jennifer was an amazing guide, and took us on what was easily the best kayaking experience of my life. This is a must-do for anyone visiting or living on Kodiak Island. Not only is she a great paddler with extensive knowledge of the area, but she is also a wildlife expert, and knew all the best spots to see otters, sea lions, bald eagles, puffins, and whales. I can't recommend this highly enough.

We had an awesome time out paddling with Jenn! This was a great way to see more of the beauty around Kodiak and Near Island. Jenn took us out to an area where we had an incredible whale sighting--a truly magical thing to witness a whale breach multiple times. While we felt incredibly lucky to witness what we did, we understand Jenn is not able to produce breaching whales on demand. She is, however, very knowledgeable and insightful about the area all the surrounding wildlife. She took us to the right places that gave us the best chance to see wildlife and beautiful scenery.
